Best for

When a ductless mini-split is the right call — four situations.

Ductless isn't the answer for every home — but when it fits, it solves problems traditional ducted systems can't.

  • Additions & ADUs

New square footage that the existing furnace duct system can't reach. A mini-split adds heat and cool without expanding the duct trunk.

  • Finished basements & attics

Conditioned spaces that always run hot or cold compared to the rest of the house. Zoning fixes it.

  • Homes without ductwork

Older homes across the metro with radiators or baseboard heat. Mini-splits add full HVAC without ripping floors and ceilings open.

  • Bedrooms & home offices

Whisper-quiet operation (as low as 19dB on Mitsubishi). Independent control by zone — no fighting over the thermostat.

Why our mini-split installs

Why we install Mitsubishi mini-splits — three reasons.

  • Mitsubishi Diamond Contractor

Top-tier installer credential. Comes with a 12-year manufacturer parts and compressor warranty when we install — twice the standard.

  • Up to 8 zones from one outdoor

A single outdoor unit can run multiple indoor heads, each with independent thermostat control. Big efficiency win.

  • Hyper-quiet hyper-efficient

Modern inverter-driven mini-splits are 30%+ more efficient than ducted systems and run 5–10dB quieter.

How it works

Our ductless mini-split installation process — four steps.

  1. 01

    In-home design

We walk the home, identify zones, and design the line-set runs. Aesthetics matter — we hide line-sets where we can.

  2. 02

    Equipment + rebate plan

Mitsubishi gear sized to the rooms. Energy Trust of Oregon rebates and IRA tax credits applied where eligible.

  3. 03

    Install

Outdoor condenser, indoor heads, refrigerant lines, condensate, and electrical. Most 2–3 zone installs are 1–2 days.

  4. 04

    Commissioning + warranty

Charge by weight, airflow tuned, Diamond warranty registered, ETO/IRA paperwork submitted. Full coverage from day one.

Refrigerant by hand

Refrigerant charged by weight — verified before we leave.

Mitsubishi inverter mini-splits are unforgiving about charge. We pressurize with nitrogen, triple-evacuate to 500 microns, then weigh the refrigerant in to manufacturer spec. Superheat and subcool checked on start-up — not skipped, not guessed. EPA 608-certified handling, every install.

Real mini-split installs

Mini-split outdoor unit placement and line-set routing.

The outdoor condenser is the part you see — and the part neighbors hear. We mount it level on isolation pads, route line-sets along the cleanest possible path, and seal every wall penetration so nothing leaks air or pests into the home.

  • Outdoor unit on vibration isolation pad, leveled
  • Line-sets micron-vacuumed before charging
  • Refrigerant charge by weight, never by feel
  • Wall pass-throughs sealed with line-hide trim

Ductless mini-split questions, answered.

  • Single-zone installs typically run $5,500–$9,000. Multi-zone systems run $9,000–$22,000 depending on number of indoor heads. Energy Trust + IRA incentives often knock several thousand off the final number.
