Furnace blows cold air
Pilot light, ignitor, gas valve, flame sensor, or thermostat. We chase the actual cause — not whichever part has the highest markup.
Short-cycling
Furnace turns on and off rapidly. Usually a clogged filter, a flame sensor, or a sizing problem from a previous install. Cheap fix in most cases.
Loud bangs, screeches, or rumbles
Bangs at startup = delayed ignition (dangerous, fix immediately). Screeches = blower bearing or belt. Rumbles = dirty burners or a heat-exchanger crack.
No heat at all
Could be as simple as a tripped breaker or a flipped switch — or as serious as a cracked heat exchanger. We check the small stuff first.
High gas bill
Often a dirty burner, a stuck damper, or a thermostat misreading. Tune-up territory more than repair, but we'll catch it on the call.
Yellow or flickering flame
Should be steady blue. Yellow means incomplete combustion — possible CO risk. Stop running the furnace and call us.
Smell gas, hear a constant hiss, or see a yellow flame? Shut the system off, leave the house, and call us — or 911 if it's urgent. Don't troubleshoot a gas leak yourself.
